MOVEMENT FOR YOUTH AND CHILDREN RIGHTS IN SIERRA LEONE

VISION: 2010
MYCR Homes of Peace Everywhere (HOPE) for Children
Hundreds of MYCR children are celebrating graduation, working for development all over Sierra Leone and moving into the world as
healthy peacemakers because they have found shelter, healing and hope in our homes.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC)-Peacemaking Mission
Thousands have received our NVC training and are implementing it in their local communities, with practice groups and reconciliation
circles, creating understanding of our common human needs and interdependence.

Sustainable Enterprise Development/Skill Training
Dozens of Internet Cafes and rural businesses are all over Sierra Leone, creating jobs, sustaining our work, and increasing access to information about the world.

OUR PLANS FOR THE NEXT YEAR:

1. Identify and bring together 50-100 orphans and war children who are homeless and underserved–over meals, for counseling and connections.
2. Create communal homes of support and hope for these children (provided until age 18).
3. Educate these children and youth to be self-reliant and productive citizens and to reintegrate child soldiers into new communities.
4. Establish first Internet Café for organization’s sustainability and as a job model and community development program.
5. Offer Nonviolent Communication training to 50-100 young people to facilitate conflict resolution in HOPE homes, in the Café and in the community.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

We need partners in our local government, religious and nongovernmental organizations and around the world on our International Support Committee.
We need your tax deductible contributions for our staff’s rent, supplies and training materials on child development, conflict resolution & information technology.
